Limited Partner (LP) “responsible investment” expectations, combined with leading 3rd party frameworks (e.g., UN PRI), have established clear requirements on what constitutes good practice when it comes to fund-level ESG management for private market investors. Bridge House’s ESG Program Development & Support service offerings support the develop and implementation of practical, fit-for-purpose ESG management programs that help our clients secure ongoing access to capital.
ESG Strategy & Program Development
For investor clients who need assistance evolving their ESG management programs, Bridge House Advisors facilitates a process that starts with understanding the firm’s history, culture, investment thesis and LP base and concludes with a practical and fit-for-purpose ESG management program. This includes policy, an integrated approach to pre-investment ESG due diligence, metrics and monitoring at the portfolio company level, engagement with portfolio companies enabled by data-driven financial diagnostics, and a strategy for communicating with LPs and other external stakeholders.
RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
- Bridge House has supported dozens of PE and Credit/Debt investors with the development and deployment of their ESG management programs. Recognizing that every firm is different, our core market values our practical and fit-for-purpose approach — we do not seek to sell an outsourced “ESG in a box” solution to our investor clients. Our goal is to establish collaborative partnerships with our investor clients that deploy our resources, and our expertise, exactly where it’s needed and when it’s needed.
ESG Program Support (Metrics & Monitoring)
Once an ESG management program has been developed, Bridge House works with global private equity clients and portfolio companies to establish customized ESG metrics and KPIs as well as establishing a process for monitoring and reporting ESG performance year over year. We assist clients with executing and maintaining their ESG programs through direct engagement with companies on ESG metrics, performance, and reporting. This includes formal reporting to the ESG Data Convergence Initiative (EDCI). In addition to metrics support, Bridge House includes other support services (as needed), such as annual ESG training, ESG “hot topic” education sessions, and ad-hoc ESG support into our ESG Program Support engagements.
RECENT HIGHLIGHTS
- On an annual basis, Bridge House supports over 30 GPs and engages with over 150 portfolio companies to provide an array of ESG program support services ranging from periodic ESG metrics and data collection, performance diagnostics to identify real opportunities for value creation, customized reporting to LPs and other 3rd party stakeholders
- Bridge House recently announced a strategic partnership with Atominvest, a leading technology provider specializing in asset management solutions. This partnership will IT-enable our program support workflows for ESG metrics collection, benchmarking, carbon footprinting, and reporting.
